You ask, Why are your puppies so Expensive?
Why so expensive? Breeding dogs the correct way is not nor will never be cheap and the value a pet brings to your life is up to you. Pet purchases are a luxury in life not a necessity and every new family should consider the other cost involved with owning a pet and how they can best care for it and pay for their pets expenses.
So sure there are ma and pa backyard breeders who are breeding subpar dogs that aren’t even breed standard and selling them in your local newspaper for much cheaper and then there are responsible breeders who do it the correct way to lessen the burden of health related issues in your puppy and offer more service. It’s your choice! Spend the money up front for your dog or buy a dog from ma and pa and have no idea with what Health issues your dog will endure down the line or any warranty or insurance rebates to help you along.
It’s your call but don’t be rude to breeders who care about the welfare and future for their puppies and ask what it’s worth to them to breed and find the right home for their puppies. We turn away people weekly with nasty attitudes bc they don’t like our pricing or want to haggle the pricing. Should we stop doing it the correct way bc someone can’t afford a puppy? No! Pets are a valuable asset to our lives and enrich them in so many ways! Your budget doesn’t change our price.

Want to complain about the investment of purchasing a pet? What happens when it’s the pets health related issues as the dog ages and needs specific medications or treatments and you can’t afford those? What happens to the dog? Do they just go on suffering? How will you pay for those? That’s my question as a breeder to know my puppy’s wellbeing and health are put at the top priority in their new family’s home. Dogs grow old just like people and health should be maintained and cared for for the entirety of their lives. Puppies are fun yes but they grow up and are a 15 to 20 year commitment for a lot of breeds.
